Submission Checklist for RTI

After copying the generated text, complete these steps to submit your application:

  1. Paste the text into a document processor, format spacing, and print it.
  2. Sign and date the bottom of the printed page.
  3. Attach a ₹10 Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft. Write the IPO serial number in the designated space on the letter.
  4. Send the letter via **Registered Post** or **Speed Post** to the Public Information Officer (PIO) of the target department. Avoid standard mail to ensure tracking delivery receipt.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to state my reason for requesting information?

No. Under Section 6(2) of the RTI Act 2005, you are not required to provide any reasons for requesting information, nor do you need to explain your professional credentials.

What is the fee to submit this application?

For central government departments, the fee is ₹10. You can pay this offline using an Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft made out to the Accounts Officer of the department.
