Tips for Professional Interview Transcription
- Slowing Down Playback: Set speed to 0.8x or 0.9x. This allows you to type continuously alongside the speaker without needing to pause repeatedly.
- Identify Speakers: Use brackets to indicate changing speakers (e.g. [Reporter]: and [Subject]:) at the start of dialogue changes.
- Inaudible Cues: If a word is unclear, insert a timestamp tag like [inaudible 04:12] so you can locate and re-check it later in the timeline.
